Bollywood Nights is back! 

Join the Cafe Namaste community on Thursday, July 14 at 6:30PM for a special Bollywood Nights with a dance class, Indian bites, henna, and local vendors at the X Miami rooftop in downtown.  Learn something new, meet new people, and have fun! Enjoy vegan Indian appetizers after class from one of our partner restaurants. 

• Bollywood Dance 101: Learn how to dance Bollywood style with  teacher and choreographer, Pooja Uberoi (@ikigaiusa)

No dance experience is necessary. 

Ticket includes class + vegan appetizers + giveaways. Henna artist will be on-site and is extra.

Henna Art 

We will have a special pop-up Henna art station with Pooja Gupta from Vathsalya Henna. All of the Henna proceeds will be going to Vathsalya Happy home Orphanage located in Odisha, India. Henna tattoos are a form  of body art and temporary skin decoration using a paste created from the powdered  dry leaves of the henna plant.  Suggested contribution, $15. 

What is Bollywood?

Bollywood dance originated from the Bollywood (Hindi) Movie Industry as a free  style dance fused with elements from Indian classical and folk dance forms. It has been and still a song and dance sequence with larger than life expression through various different moves, grandeur sets,  picturesque locations and large ensemble. BollyJazz  - This fusion dance class brings you the best of the expressive beauty  and contagious energy of Bollywood's most stylized dances and mashes them up with the influences of hip hop, Latin, jazz, funk and street  styles. 

About Pooja Uberoi

Pooja was born and raised in New Delhi, India and later moved to Mumbai to work in film and  television as a choreographer and  head one of the biggest Jazz  schools in India. Pooja will share her experiences as a dance instructor while growing up in India. 

After spending 2 decades in the dance world in India she moved to New York and started Ikigai USA and BollyJazz. She has been inspired by her own journey to create something for the world  through dance. She believes dance has the power to heal and connect the  world and must be part of everyone's life. Her company, IKIGAIUSA, helps  and encourages people to follow their passion and mission by encouraging  them to follow their IKIGAI. 

Pooja currently shuttles between New York  City and Miami to teach students in both cities. Pooja also teaches Bollywood as part of various public school dance residencies in  Brooklyn, NY. 

 

Location

Bollywood Nights will be held at X Miami Apartment, 230 NE 4th St, at the rooftop pool deck (p-level). Street parking is available on 3rd street and in front of the building. This building is a hotel and residence. Please go to security to be sent up to the main pool deck.  

Rain + Refunds 

Event is rain or shine and can be moved inside if needed. Unfortunately no refunds are allowed and tickets are non-transferable.
