This is a great opportunity to come and learn the steps to prepare a mini farm from creating grow rows to planting seedlings.  Come prepared to work, shovel, and build. We will also be doing a lot of weeding, so think of this as your "farm fitness." Parking is free and available on-site or on the street. Try to carpool if you can.

Please make sure to attend if you sign up, as they are expecting your help and very much appreciate it. Bring your friends. Suitable for adults and youth from 16 onward. If you have questions about the age policy, please contact Green Haven Project directly on their website.

About:

Green Haven Project is a non-profit organization with a focus on creating community gardens and sustainable eco-systems in areas that are predominantly known as food deserts. These are urban areas where residents generally reside in low income housing with little to no access to fresh produce within a 10 mile radius. They also focus on providing education on horticulture and nutrition to youth. The food grown is given away to local residents free of charge. Their mission is to empower residents to live a healthy-sustainable life, through fresh locally grown food.

PROJECT: NAMASTE Uniting communities through acts of service.

Cafe Namaste's Project: Namaste serves the community to improve the lives around us. Our goal is to empower individuals to be agents of change by providing volunteer programs to the community, partnering with existing non-profits and offering wellness programs to the communities in need.
